Each year the Georgia Department of Education asks parents, students, and school personnel to participate in providing feedback on their school’s climate through an online survey specific to each group. Traditionally the survey windows open in October and close during the early part of March. While the raw data from these surveys is not released to the public, the data is used in the calculation of the school’s Star Climate Rating, College and Career Readiness Performance Index (CCRPI), and to guide school leadership in targeting areas for growth in the upcoming school year. All surveys responses are completed online anonymously and submitted directly to the Georgia DOE directly. Parents may also opt to take the Georgia Parent Survey in Spanish by selecting the option within the survey.
Parent Survey: This survey is 24 questions and can be completed on any device with internet access in just under 15 minutes. Parents are welcome to come into the school and complete this survey online in the Parent Center or school library during normal operating hours. Student Health Survey: Students begin taking this survey in third grade and will continue through their twelfth grade year. Three versions are offered depending on the student’s current grade level. The Middle School Survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. In addition to guiding school climate initiatives, the data gathered will also influence Health Curriculum and Instruction as it provides goals for drug prevention and education.
